Outstanding Owners
Sami and Kartik with Bear
Bear is a Toy Aussie who has a lot of feelings towards most things! Noises, other dogs, strangers and sneezes used to put him on edge. Sami and Kartik have put a ton of work in (and continue to do so) and Bear has come a long way with his reactivity.
Alix and Phil with Colette
Colette is a six year old feist mix who has struggled with a mix of fear reactivity and territorial agitation for years. Phil and Alix want to help her with her stress, so they reached out to me! They learned a ton about reading her body language, how to advocate for her, counter conditioning and management. All of that combined has helped Colette conquer some fears and she made huge strides in the 10 days we worked together. I know they will achieve great things together in the future!
Sharon with Riley
Riley is a 2 year old dog who regressed with her potty training. Even though my protocol was quite different than what they’re used to doing, she followed every single step and Riley got better with her potty habits instantly! Having an owner who is enthusiastic about training and willing to put in the work is the key ingredient to getting success for you and your dog.
Sarah with Abby
Abby used to be a terror to walk. She would react to pretty much everything, but the scariest was cars driving by as she would lunge at them and Sarah was terrified of her getting hit. Through training and incredible commitment from mom, Abby now goes for pleasant walks with zero reactivity. She is even able to go to the mall and is a perfect lady.
Nikki with Fiona
Nikki is one of those people with a heart of gold. She is incredibly sweet, kind and loving and she shares that love with the foster dogs she helps find homes for! Fiona also shares that kind and loving nature, so it’s no wonder she became a foster fail. The only downside of Fiona loving everyone is she developed some frustration based dog reactivity. After our program, Fiona was able to walk around dogs and better handle her emotions. I have no doubt in my mind that these two will accomplish great things together.
Christine and Keith with Abby
Christine reached out regarding Abby after she had gotten out through the gate in their fence and wouldn’t come back (she was too happy saying hi to everyone)! We had so much fun teaching Abby recall and that she needed to be with her humans if she wanted to go through the gate. After a couple months I got to come back and work on Abby’s walk! I know they’re keeping up with the training as I get updates all the time of their wins together! These guys are the kind of owners you miss as they’re such a joy to work with.
Jessica with Finley
Jessica and I met while being vendors at a pet event. We struck up a conversation towards the end and I could tell she knew her stuff. She understood where Finley was at, but knew she could get him further towards the goals that she had for him with some help! Finley was reactive to people and dogs due to some insecurity and fear, but we were able to make so much progress that he took a few trips to Home Depot and Tractor Supply! Jessica is a fantastic handler and knows how to read Finley; shortly into their program she started to do things before I told her to. A fantastic team and such a pleasure to work with!
Jessica and Mike with Thor
Jessica and Mike got a Great Dane as their first dog. At 5 months old, he was already 82 lbs. As he grew, they realized they really needed to make sure they had control of him during a walk. He was a typical puppy, wanting to say hi and play with everyone, but since he would grow to be 200 lbs, they knew they had to get it down fast! I absolutely adore this family, every lesson consisted of so many laughs! Thor is still a big doof, but now his walks are safe for everyone involved.
Brianna and Josh with Maple
Brianna and Josh picked a Great Dane for their first dog as adults. Not an easy feet in and of itself due to just the size of the breed, but add in genetic fear of strangers and you have a girly who is quite tough to walk! Maple would lunge and bark at anyone, even when they were far away. Since they live in a condo complex, seeing people around was a common occurrence. Being 135 lbs, they definitely needed some help to have a bit more control and start making her feel better. They understand that this is who she is, but they put in the work to start the journey towards making her feel better and safer!
Jamie with Aurora
Jamie is one of those people who knows her dog. She had super realistic views of where Aurora was, but she also knew she needed help since she was going away and had none of Aurora’s “people” available to watch her. Aurora was 7 years old and had always been skeptical and reactive of new people until she had time to warm up to them. They had worked with a trainer prior with minimal results, but she knew she had to try again. As you can see from the picture, Aurora (a.k.a. “Miss Thing”) isn’t super cooperative, but she LOVED training! They fell into a groove and Aurora started to make friends. Towards the end of the program, Jamie trusted me and we had some of my friends over into their home, including one man they had never met before. Aurora did so well! She was stressed, sure, but powered through it and gained more friends in the process. I’m so privileged that Jamie trusted me!
Shay with Mika
Mika came from a breeder out West. She was the only puppy in the litter and her mom wanted nothing to do with her, so the breeder sent her to a trainer at 6 weeks old. Unfortunately, the trainer unintentionally tainted the pressure of a martingale collar. The first time Shay tried to take Mika for a walk, she started to SCREAM as soon as the collar engaged! That was when Shay called me and I’ve been with them ever since. I’ve loved watching this girl grow up to the absolutely model like lady she is (do you see that smile in her picture?!). We have not only gotten her outside, but she happily explores the beach with her mom! Shay has such big goals for her and I’m so privileged that she keeps me around to help out with them!
Becca with Dottie
Dottie is an 8 year old dog who had some frustration based leash reactivity towards dogs. As much as they both prefer off - leash hikes more, Dottie had to learn how to behave better walking around the complex they live in. Becca and Dottie have one of those relationships that every owner should strive for with their dog. You can feel and see the love between the two of them. This relationship helped training progress so quickly and we all had a blast during their program! Dottie happy prances will live in my brain forever!
Kelly with Hazel
Kelly is no softie, but Hazel is such a typical Labrador so walks were quite miserable together. She would get excited about, well, EVERYTHING. Thankfully she’s a great dog who’s very driven and she really just needed to know how to win. Once she knew that, everything fell into place. It was such a joy to work with these two. Watching them work together would bring a smile to anyone’s face and Kelly is the kind of owner who puts the work in, no questions asked! I can’t wait to watch them thrive together.
